Meet the Founder Behind College Ninja
I’m Kristina Ellis, and before I ever taught families how to pay for college differently, I had to figure it out myself.
When I was a freshman in high school, I was told that paying for college would be my responsibility. That moment changed everything. Instead of accepting debt as inevitable, I studied how scholarships actually work. I wanted to understand not only how to find them, but how winners are chosen.
That journey led to over $500,000 in scholarships and a debt-free graduation from Vanderbilt University. Later, serving on scholarship selection committees gave me a rare perspective most families never see: how decisions are really made behind the scenes.
